Meet the CT67–140 — not your ordinary thread. This is the Arc Thread, new curve design from Sandvik.
Straight threads? Stress concentrates at the root, snap easily. CT67's curved profile spreads the load across a larger surface. Peak stress? Drastically reduced. Fatigue life? 30% plus improvement.
No more thread breakage in hard rock. Stronger coupling, less vibration, straighter holes — even in deep drilling. Built for high-power rigs, automation-ready. Replaces ST68 and GT60 for 102–152mm holes.
CT67 Arc Thread. Game over for straight threads.
CT67 Curved Thread Core Advantages
CT67 is a curved thread system for large-diameter top hammer drills, replacing the traditional ST68/GT60. It is compatible with 102–152mm boreholes and 87mm drill pipes, emphasizing high-power rock drilling, ultra-long lifespan, and automated adaptation. Compared to conventional straight thread T51/GT60, its advantages are as follows:
Curved Tooth Profile Disperses Stress
Traditional straight threads concentrate stress at the root tip, making them highly susceptible to lateral fracture. CT67's curved profile expands the stress-bearing cross-sectional area, dispersing impact loads across a larger contact surface, significantly reducing peak stress at the thread root.
Fatigue Life Increased by Over 30%
Under hard rock and deep hole high-frequency impact conditions, the failure rate of drill pipe, joint, and drill bit threads is significantly reduced, completely solving the common ST68 thread root brittle fracture problem.
The overall connection is more rigid, the meshing and contact area is larger, the drill rod string has no looseness and less micro-vibration, and the long drill rod for deep holes is not easy to bend or deform.
